Saved Searches

Saved searches allow you to search for items and custom records through a given criteria. In order for an item to appear in a saved search, the item must meet ALL the criteria of the search. This means that if the item met the first two criteria, but not the third, it will still not be displayed.

Sorting Results

Saved searches also give you the ability to order the results. There are different ways in which this can be achieved. For example, one way to order your results would be to use the 'Sort By' dropdown via the custom search (see image below)

Sometimes, you may want to order results numerically. This can also be done within NetSuite saved searches. As an example, already running on Segginao, the searches for Vegan, Coming Soon, Offers, Gluten & New Products are ordered numerically. Please see the image below.

From the image above, you can see that for this particular item, it will appear in 12th place for the Vegan search, 1st place for the Offers search, and 9th place for the Gluten search. NOTE: If you wish to have an item displayed in one of these searches, they MUST have a number in one of the above custom fields. If the field is left blank, the item will not appear in the corresponding search.

Filters

If you run a saved search and there are a large number of results, filters can help narrow down the item you are looking for. Filters can be applied to each saved search and are unique to that saved search only. I.e. they are not shared across other saved searches. In order to create a filter, please see the reference image below.

As you can see from the image above, there is already a filter setup called 'Filter by ID' this means that when the results are displayed, a filter will become available to narrow down the results. Please see the image below for further clarification.
