NetSuite gives you the ability to export or import large sets of data to your web store rather than looking up each item or adding it via Lists > Web Site > Items > New

You can customise what fields you want to export and import. However, please do be aware that when importing, you MUST still have the required fields added e.g. Display in Web Store. Please see below for further information on how to export and import sets of data into NetSuite.

Exporting Data

  • First, go to Lists > Search > Saved Searches
  • You will then see a list of currently saved searches already made. Find the one that says [Export Site Catalogue] and click [View]
  • A list of items will then appear, these are all the items that are currently displayed in the store and are not inactive
  • Click the [Export CSV] button (see image below)

  • Once exported, open it up in a program that can read CSV files, e.g. Google Sheets
  • When opened, you will see all the results from the custom saved search. You will also see that the headings are the field names that are selected in the 'Results' tab of the custom saved search (see image below)

If you want to change the fields that you export, please refer here

Importing Data

  • First go to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  • You will then get some options which will tell NetSuite what it is you are trying to import, for example, items. (See image below)

If you are uploading a CSV file that contains a list of Non-Inventory Items, use the options in the above image, upload your file and click [Next]

  • On the next screen, select ADD as the import option as these are new products to go on the store and click [Next]
  • You will then need to Field Map the CSV file fields to the ones that the Lists > Web Site > Items > New form has. To map fields to one another, just drag and drop field names from the CSV file & the NetSuite item fields, to the middle so that they match. (See reference image below)

  • Once the fields have been mapped correctly, click [Next] and then [Save] on the next screen

Please remember to include the required fields of each item in the CSV file. Failure to do so, will result in the product not being shown on the web store.
